The @sarcasm_only meme page currently has 16.2 million followers on Instagram and over 20,000 posts. Putting them above the previously mentioned @epicfunnypage in followers and posts. They follow only one account, a drinking game called “Do or Drink”. 

The content featured on the @sarcasm_only page is strongly female-based and includes reels, still-image memes, and a variety of relatable text-focused memes. The majority of posts portray the common struggles and funny mishaps girls deal with on a frequent basis, including mental health issues. The page offers a fresh mix of funny and real content followers love.

The @daquan meme page currently has 16.5 million followers on Instagram, has over 8,800 posts, and is verified. Despite the fewer number of posts than the previously mentioned @sarcasm_only and @epicfunnypage, the page is the most popular of the three.

They post every day and gain over 200,000 likes per post. Their content is aimed more toward today’s youth and their sense of humor. 

4. thefatjewish

@thefatjewish page is a verified personal page with 10 million followers, and over 4,200 posts, and follows a purposeful 666 accounts made up of social media influencers, celebrities, and other funny folks. The page is more on the raunchy side and shares a lot of current content taken from Instagram, Tik Tok, and the vast collection of memes provided by social media. Along with their quirky and R-rated captions typed in all caps. 

A majority of the content features painful mishaps, political memes, celebrity content, and even some interesting selfies. The posts gain anywhere from 200,000 to over 3,000,000 likes per post. More than any other accounts on the list.

Possessing a very simple and straightforward name, the @funnymemes page offers exactly what you’d think, funny memes. The page has 6.4 million followers, over 2,000 posts, and follows only one personal account. They post multiple times a day, with a random barrage of reels, memes, and cringe that are very on-brand for the vibe the page gives off. Gaining anywhere from 8,000 to 30,000 likes per post.

The internet wouldn’t be what it is today without the use of memes. As time has gone on, memes are seen as more of a form of communication and expression of self than a standard text or email. They’re funny, they’re creative, and most are just fun to look at. Throughout the history of memes, many have left the world’s collective mind almost as soon as they became popular.

Then, there are those rare memes that transcended the internet and hit mainstream pop culture. These are the memes that can be used in just about any situation, with people wearing shirts, hats, and more with these memes on them. Without further ado, we present five internet memes that will surely live on forever, even long after the internet has been wiped out from human history.

Twitter user @MISSINGEGIRL first posted the famous meme in 2019, using a still image of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong and Kyle Richards from the episode “Malibu Beach Party from Hell” for the left portion of the meme and a Canadian cat named Smudge found on Tumblr for the right portion of the meme. 

Armstrong is seen crying and pointing, while Richards holds her back. The meme makes it look like the confused cat, who is sitting at a dinner table with a salad, is the focus of Armstrong’s frustration. Making for a fun and easily manipulated meme that people can’t get enough of. 

Distracted Boyfriend

A classic meme that will live on forever is the Distracted Boyfriend meme, born from a stock photo taken by Antonio Guillem in Catalonia Spain. Guillem wanted to capture a fun depiction of infidelity through the use of the three models seen in the photo. 

The man in the photo is seen looking back in an over-expressive and almost comedic way at a woman walking past him and his girlfriend on the street, who looks at him with a dramatic look of disbelief and disgust. The meme rose to popularity in 2017 and has been a fan-favorite ever since. 

Crying Jordan

The story behind the picture may not be all that funny, but the internet has taken a picture of Michael Jordan crying and turned it into a hilarious meme that will definitely stand the test of time. The photo of basketball legend Michael Jordan was taken by New Times Photographer Stephan Olvera and features Jordan crying in the middle of his induction to the Basketball Hall of Fame. A legend himself, this meme may live on in the same right. 

Kermit and Evil Kermit 

There’s a surprising amount of memes featuring Kermit the frog and one that’s particularly entertaining is the Evil Kermit meme.  The image is a still taken from the “Muppets Most Wanted” movie where Kermit is talking to his nemesis Constantine who is dressed in a black cloak, similar to a Sith Lord. 

Twitter user @aaannnnyyyyaaaa posted a screenshot of good and evil Kermit. The internet fell in love with the meme where captions depict thoughts of good Kermit and evil Kermit, resulting in hilarious and relatable memes. The formula behind the meme and the fact that Kermit is meme gold ensures this meme isn’t going anywhere. 

This Is Fine

One of the cutest and most relatable memes is the “This is Fine” dog, taken from the webcomic strip “On Fire” in 2013. It shows a human-like cartoon dog at a table enjoying his coffee, saying “this is fine”, while the room around him is engulfed in flames. 

Essentially portraying the sarcastic calm one has when attempting to keep it together while everything around them is chaos. It’s because of this, it makes for a hilariously relatable meme that the internet can’t get enough of.

The Indian Premier League certainly isn’t among the oldest professional sports leagues in the world, but it is already one of the most popular. Each year, 10 teams battle it out for the IPL championship and the valuation of the league is now several billion dollars. Along the way, there have been some truly great players, with some establishing themselves as legends.

Out of the many IPL players in the early parts of the league, which ones have been the best? Taking their contributions and production into consideration, there are five players that have separated themselves from the rest of the pack to be considered the best IPL players of all time.

5. Shane Watson

The other non-Indian-born player on the list is Shane Watson, who hails from Ipswich, Australia. Watson is one of the most influential cricket players of all time and spent eight years playing professionally before making his way to the IPL when it began in 2008. Watson started his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals where he stayed for seven years, and has since played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings during his IPL career.

Watson is tied for third all-time in the IPL with four centuries which spanned from 2008 to 2020 in 141 innings. Watson collected 3,874 runs and 92 wickets, joining just a handful of players to assemble 500 runs and 20 wickets, playing away the milestone. Watson is also one of a select few to record a hat trick.

4. Suresh Raina

A batsman who joined the Indian national team in 2005, Suresh Raina stuck around for 13 years while also having a long career in the IPL. At the advent of the league, Raina joined the Chennai Super Kings where he played until 2015, and rejoined the team in 2018 after spending two years with the Gujarat Lions. 

Raina finds himself close to the top of the leaderboard in many IPL career marks, including runs. In fact, Raina holds the team record for most career runs on two different teams. Raina also set the record for best strike rates in an inning with 1.5 that he set in May 2011. 

3. Dwayne Bravo

One of just two players on the list that were born outside of India, Dwayne Bravo is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, with the all-rounder representing the West Indies. Bravo was around for the start of the IPL, starting with the Mumbai Indians before also playing for the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions. During that time, Bravo also spent time playing professionally outside of India.

Bravo holds the IPL record for most wickets taken at 183, with no other player being particularly close. 33 of those wickets have come against the Mumbai Indians and another 22 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

2. MS Dhoni

The former captain of India’s national team made his international debut in 2004 and played domestically before the formation of the IPL. In 2008, he was part of the first Chennai Super Kings team (squad no. 7) where he remained through 2015. MS Dhoni would return to the team in 2018, and for those two years in between, he was a member of the Rising Pune Supergiant team.

Dhoni is sixth-all time in the list of most career sixes with 229, which he did in 206 innings. He also dominates a couple of career records, recording 170 dismissals and 131 catches to go along with 39 career stumpings.

At the top of just about everybody’s list for best IPL player of all time is Virat Kohli, the New Dehli-born legend who came into the professional ranks at the right time. Kohli holds the IPL record for the most runs in his career and has feasted on teams like Rising Pune Supergiant and the Delhi Capitals, holding the record for most runs against both franchises. Kohli has a career-high of 108, which occurred on May 7, 2016, against RPS, and he’s third all-time in half-centuries with 44.

Mavis Wanczyk

In 2017, Massachusetts native Mavis Wanczyk won an incredible $758.7 million Powerball Jackpot. Wanczyk chose the lump sum as the way to collect her winnings and ended up taking home over $300 million. She bought five tickets in total, two tickets with randomly generated sets of numbers and the other three tickets with chosen numbers, some of which were combinations of her family members’ birth dates. She purchased the tickets at the Pride Station and Store in Chicopee Massachusetts. The store received a $50,000 bonus for having sold the ticket. 

John and Lisa Robinson 

John and Lisa Robinson are a couple from a small town in Tennessee who didn’t let the lottery change them. They won a third of the $1.6 billion jackpot after purchasing one of the three winning tickets, the two others having been sold in California and Florida. The couple took the lump sum payout of over $300 million. They don’t intend on doing the things most of us would when winning such an enormous sum of money. They’ve told news outlets they never wanted that lifestyle in the first place and money hasn’t changed that. Instead, they decided to pay off debts and donate, holding on to the remaining money. 

Maureen Smith and David Kaltschmidt

Another couple who took part in the $1.6 billion jackpot winnings is Maureen Smith and her husband David Kaltschmidt from Melbourne Beach Florida. The couple told the media that they have a tradition of buying lottery tickets from their local Publix grocery store as well as playing the same numbers for the last 30 years. Their lucky numbers finally struck gold in 2016. The couple chose to take the lump sum payout, due to their age and not knowing if they’d be around to receive payments throughout the years. They still live the same lives, albeit with more stress and even a couple of fancy new cars. 

Scott Godfrey

Scott Godfrey, a kind-hearted man from Morro Bay California, was the lucky winner of the $699 million jackpot in 2021. He bought the 10 tickets from his local Albertsons. He chose quick picks for all of the tickets and the very first ticket of the bunch ended up being the one that won it all. Valentine’s Day Craziness

In April of 2019, Canadian couple Nicole Pedneault and Roger Larocque became the lucky winners of the $750,000 prize money for a lottery ticket that won the year prior. They mentioned having bought the ticket for Valentine’s Day in 2018 and apparently tucked it away and forgot about it. In April of 2019, their grandson asked for informational books to help with a school project. When Nicole went through the books for her grandson, a ticket fell out of the pages. To their amazement, the ticket was a winner, and even more amazing, the ticket was still valid, but only for two more days. The couple turned in their ticket and collect their winnings. A very happy ending to what could have been an unfortunate situation. 

Aussie Luck

The next story is one you may have heard of before. In 1998, Bill Morgan of Australia was the victim of a horrible car crash, the vehicle almost crushing him. He survived but suffered a heart attack as a result of the crash. He was rushed to the hospital, where they administered a drug that caused an allergic reaction. He died for 14 minutes and was put into a medically induced coma for 12 days after his heart stopped beating. He recovered and with his newfound lease on life, decided to play the lottery after settling into his life with his then-fiancée. He ended up winning a car worth $17,000. Insane luck followed soon after when the local news station covered his story and asked him to reenact the win. When he did, he scratched off a $250,000 winning ticket. Bill Morgan is one lucky guy.

A funny story about a man from the UK, whose reaction to winning a $106 million lottery prize went viral on Tik Tok. The audio recording of Andrew Clark’s phone call to the National Lottery line received social media due to his calm demeanor after having won a whopping $106 million prize. Clark is a busy man who tends to let things pile up in his van. Including his lottery tickets. His partner’s niece called and told him to check his tickets after the winning numbers had been announced. Days later he went through the stack of tickets and found a winner. A big winner. His reaction gave viewers a good laugh and was marked as the most British response ever. 

Kind Citizen

Losing lottery tickets seems to be a common theme for most winners. Michael J Weirsky is one of those. The man from New Jersey accidentally left his winning tickets on a local convenience store counter while distracted. A kind man turned the tickets into the store owner and a frantic Michael eventually found his way back to the store to ask if they had seen the tickets. He ended up winning an astounding $273 million. 

Better Late Than Never

Another lucky winner for more reasons than one is Joemel Panisa. He decided to clean his office and when doing so, found a lottery ticket he had tucked away in an envelope the year prior. The iPhone is the most common smartphone in use around the world, and for good reason. The Apple smartphone has had amazing features since its inception, though it seems that there’s an endless list of tricks that aren’t commonly know. With the number of features being too long to list, there’s a lot that your iPhone can do that isn’t listed in the manual.

If you feel like tinkering around with your iPhone and seeing some of the cool features that you may not have known about, check out these five iPhone hacks.

1. Freeze your screen to prevent people from scrolling or swiping.

One incredibly useful trick you can do with your iPhone is you can actually freeze the touchscreen function while still displaying your screen. An especially helpful tool for parents of young and curious children who enjoy swiping the screen and pressing any and all buttons they get ahold of. 

Or when you’re showing off something in your phone to a nosey person who takes it upon themselves to start scrolling through your camera roll, or notifications. All you have to do is turn on Guided Access and when you’re done, press the home button three times in a row to shut off the feature. 

2. Use the Measure App as a household tool.

The Measure app comes pre-installed on any iPhones running iOS 12 and later. You can check if your iPhone needs any updates by going to settings, general, then software updates and updates if needed. 

The Measure app uses the camera to take pictures of objects and then measure their height, width, and even surface area with mostly accurate data taken by figuring out distances of surrounding objects. Another function offered by the app is one that can determine if a surface is level. 

3. Do a voiceover while recording your iPhone screen.

This iPhone hack is useful when recording an instructional, or how-to video. Go to the control center, and press the screen record button for longer than you normally would, and it’ll launch the recording function. Then select the video, or app you’d like to record your voiceover. 

Beneath that, press the microphone button to record your voice. When you’re ready, press start recording and it will record your screen and voice simultaneously. Press stop recording when you’re finished. 

4. Set a sleep timer so you can listen to music while you fall asleep.

We’ve all fallen asleep while using our phones, waking up abruptly later in the night to the startling sound of a particularly loud and energetic song. Or maybe you put on a relaxing video, or podcast to drown out other sounds while you drift off to sleep, but don’t want your phone to play them the entire night. Well, lucky for you there’s a way to put a stop to that annoyance. 

Open the clock app, click “Timer”, and select the time you want your iPhone to run your preferred music, podcast, or video. But before you press “Start”, click on “When Timer Ends”, scroll down through the lists of sounds until you get to “Stop Playing” and select that, then click “Set”, and then “Start”. 

5. Turn on your ‘Do Not Disturb’ during a movie and have it turn off automatically.

Nobody wants to be the person with their phone going off in the movie theater. You also don’t want to be the person who forgets to turn your notifications back on afterward, in case someone is trying to reach you when your movie, or another event, is finished. 

You can prevent that from happening by using this hack to ensure your Do Not Disturb feature turns itself off after you leave the location. Use the Focus feature in iOS 15, or later, by going to the Do Not Disturb option, under “turn on automatically” you can put in specific times and locations when/where you want the feature to turn on.

During his career with the franchise, Sisler posted a .344 batting average with 93 home runs and 962 runs batted in, collecting an MVP Award in 1922. Sisler won two batting titles and was a master of stolen bases, swiping a career-high 51 bags during his MVP season. Sisler was even the Browns’ manager for three seasons and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939.

4. Eddie Murray

“Steady” Eddie Murray is one of just a handful of players that’s hit 500 home runs while recording 3,000 career hits. Murray had two stints with the Orioles, starting his career in Baltimore from 1977 to 1988 and returning for the 1996 season. Murray was a seven-time All-Star with the Orioles and took home the Rookie of the Year Award with a .283 batting average and 27 home runs.

In his overall Orioles career, Murray slugged 363 home runs and knocked in 1,224 runs with a .294 batting average. Murray was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003 in his first year on the ballot. He has also been inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame and has his jersey number 33 retired by the franchise.

3. Jim Palmer

The only pitcher on the list is Jim palmer, who spent his entire career with the Orioles between 1968 and 1984, only taking off the 1968 season. Palmer was named an American League All-Star six times during his career, winning four Gold Gloves and learning the league in wins for three years in a row between 1975 and 1977.

The crown jewel of Palmer’s career is being a three-time AL Cy Young Award winner, taking home the title in 1973, 1975, and 1976. After retiring in 1984, Palmer was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1990 and had his number 22 jersey retired as he was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame.

2. Brooks Robinson

There’s a reason Brooks Robinson was known as the “Human Vacuum Cleaner” thanks to his tremendous defensive play that won him 16 Gold Glove Awards, the most by a non-pitcher in baseball history. Robinson played his entire career with the Orioles that spanned from 1955 to 1977 and included a long list of non-Gold Glove Awards, too.

Robinson was named to the American League All-Star Team 18 times during his career and won the MVP Award in 1964 thanks to a .317 batting average, 28 home runs, and 118 runs batted in. Like the others on the list, Robinson was a first-ballot Hall of Famer and was inducted in 1983, and the number five jersey is retired in his honor.

For more than a century, the Orioles have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, with a lot of surprises along the way.

They Were Originally The Milwaukee Brewers

There is a Milwaukee Brewers franchise in Major League Baseball that has been active since their move from Seattle in 1970, but the current Baltimore Orioles were the original Milwaukee Brewers. That’s right, the Orioles franchise roots date back to the 1870s when they were a minor league team named the Milwaukee Brewers, and moved up to the American League in 1901 for one season.

The following year, the Brewers moved to St. Louis, becoming the Browns. When owner Bill Veeck was forced to sell the team, they were moved to Baltimore under the Miles-Krieger-Hoffberger group and renamed the Orioles in 1954. The team has operated as the Baltimore Orioles ever since.

They Match The Yankees For One Obscure Record

Through the 2022 MLB season, there have only been 13 seasons in which a team has won at least 108 games. The 1906 Chicago Cubs were the first to do it, winning a whopping 116 games to set the standard that has yet to be broken. Since then, several franchises including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates have reached 108 wins, but only two teams have done it twice.

The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees are the only two, with the Yankees accomplishing the feat three times. The Orioles did it in back-to-back seasons, winning 109 games in 1969 and then 108 games in 1970. The team reached the World Series in both years, winning it all in 1970 over the Cincinnati Reds.

Only Three Teams Have Longer Pennant Droughts

After having tremendous success from the late 1960s through the 1970s, the Baltimore Orioles crowned the peak of the franchise’s success with a World Series title in 1983 over the Philadelphia Phillies. Since then, the Orioles have yet to win the American League pennant and get back to the World Series.

That drought is the fourth longest in Major League Baseball, and the second longest in the American League behind the Seattle Mariners, who have never reached the World Series. The two National League teams with longer pennant droughts are the Pittsburgh Pirates (1979) and Milwaukee Brewers (1982), who we know as the new Orioles.

Cal Ripken Leads In Just About Everything

It’s probably not a surprise that Cal Ripken Jr. holds a lot of franchise records since he has the most games played for the franchise and the most consecutive games by any MLB player. However, Ripken holds just about every single batting record. This includes having the most hits, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, walks, and even strikeouts.

There are a couple of franchise records that Ripken doesn’t hold though, surprisingly. Brady Anderson holds the record for the most times hit by a pitch, getting plunked 148 times. Ripken also takes a backseat in franchise triples to George Sisler (145) and shares the record with Chris Davis for most strikeouts at 1,305. What makes this surprising is that Ripken played in almost three times as many games (3,001 to 1,151) as Davis.

Nobody Has Had A Worse Start To A Season

1988 was a rough year for Baltimore Orioles fans, with the team’s postseason hopes dashed before the end of April. That season, the Orioles started with 14 consecutive losses, which was the first time that’s happened in MLB history. Only the 1997 Chicago Cubs have matched that start ever since.

However, the streak didn’t end there. The Orioles continued to lose until their streak reached 21 games and were 16 games out of first place. The Orioles finally snapped their skid, defeating the Minnesota Twins 4-2.
